Abstract
The paper deals with the composita (compound words) in Corpus Areopagiticum Slavicum, translated in the 16th century by Monk Isaiah. The following issues are under consideration: the most wide-spread components of composita (compared with the general distribution of those in Old Russian and Old Church Slavonic languages); the affixation peculiarities of Slavic composita versus those of their Greek prototypes, and some particular cases of the reverse component order (-lyub- and -nachal-).
