On the grammatical meaning of the english participle

Abstract
It is argued that the grammatical meaning of the English participle remains unspecified in current theoretical and applied grammar studies. It is suggested that a cognitive approach in the frame of the Cognitive Theory of Tense and Aspect may facilitate a better understanding of the meaning of the English participle.
