Abstract

The paper discusses an insufficiently known phenomenon of the late XIX century English fable. “Fables in Song” by Lord Litton are taken as a typical example. Without exceeding the genre framework, these fables tend to demonstrate radical neoromantic transformation of the classical fable paradigm.
